We are committed to amplify farmers’ collective voice and strengthen their influence on the global stage.
FFORA helps smallholder farmers’ organisations organise, lead, and influence global, regional and national policies and legislation, around climate change and related issues such as access to finance, land tenure, agroecology, biodiversity and many more, based on their priorities.
We provide strategic support to build the knowledge, evidence, communication tools and strengthen farmers' skillsets to become more influential. As part of this work, FFORA strategically coordinates the Family Farmers for Climate Action (FFCA) campaign composed of 9 regional farmers organisations and 2 global ones.
Farmers organisations members of the Family Farmers for Climate Action campaign are:
In 2025 and 2026, we convened the FFCA members at meetings "Enhancing Farmers Organisations’ Recognition, Capacity and Engagement (FORCE)" in Tanzania and Philippines to advance their campaign and prepare an inclusive dialogue with climate finance stakeholders, exploring ways to enhance direct access for farmer-led initiatives.
These unique meetings helped the farmers leaders in developing their messaging around their unique value proposition and their calls for policy & finance reforms. They also agreed and committed to develop a long term, farmers organisations-led resiliency and empowerment fund.
The process to develop their own fund was informed by a Background paper on climate finance prepared by FFORA. Based on analysis of various global climate funds it provides an overview of the climate finance ecosystems, governance frameworks and processes that can guide farmers organisations to develop ideas on how best to build and access funds at national, regional and global level that are agile and responsive to their needs.
